About Bain & Company
Bain & Company was founded in 1973 by Bill Bain and a group of partners who left the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Bill Bain wanted a firm that didn't just hand over reports, but actually tied its compensation to the financial results of its clients (a radical 'skin-in-the-game' concept at the time).
Bain is particularly dominant in the Private Equity (PE) space. Its Private Equity Group (PEG) conducts a massive share of the world's commercial due diligence for buyout firms. Bain is also famous for creating the Net Promoter Score (NPS), the global standard metric for customer loyalty.
