The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) was founded in 1963 by Bruce Henderson, a former Vanderbilt Bible salesman who became an executive at Westinghouse. Henderson pioneered the concept of corporate strategy as a rigorous discipline. BCG is famous for creating the 'Growth-Share Matrix' (the BCG Matrix), a framework still taught in every business school worldwide.
