About Bank of America
Bank of America has a fascinating history. Its earliest predecessor, the Bank of Italy, was founded in San Francisco in 1904 by Amadeo Pietro Giannini to serve working-class immigrants. The modern Bank of America was created in 1998 when Charlotte-based NationsBank acquired the San Francisco-based Bank of America and took its name.
During the 2008 financial crisis, BofA famously acquired Merrill Lynch, saving the prestigious Wall Street firm and instantly making BofA a powerhouse in global wealth management and investment banking. In India, BA Continuum (the bank's GCC) employs thousands in tech, operations, and quantitative modeling.
