About Myntra

Myntra was founded in 2007 in Bengaluru by IIT Kanpur alumni. It originally started as a B2B platform for personalized gift items (like custom-printed mugs and t-shirts). In 2011, recognizing the growing demand for branded apparel online, Myntra pivoted exclusively to fashion and lifestyle retail.

Myntra aggressively acquired top brands and introduced several successful private labels (like Roadster and HRX). In 2014, Flipkart acquired Myntra for approximately $300 million to consolidate its dominance in the fashion sector against Amazon. Myntra continues to operate as an independent brand under the Flipkart group.
