Accenture's roots trace to Arthur Andersen's consulting division, established in 1954. In 1989, it was formally separated as Andersen Consulting. Following an arbitration ruling, the business fully separated from Arthur Andersen in 2000 and rebranded as Accenture in January 2001, listing on the New York Stock Exchange the same year.
