About TCS

TCS was established in 1968 under the Tata Group — one of India's oldest and largest conglomerates — originally as a division called Tata Computer Centre. It became a fully separate subsidiary in 1995 and listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange of India in 2004.

  1. 1968
    Founded in Mumbai

    Tata Consultancy Services established in Mumbai as part of the Tata Group.

    First software export

    TCS executes its first software export — a project for Burroughs Corporation in the United States.
