About VMware / Broadcom
VMware was founded in 1998 in Palo Alto by Diane Greene, Mendel Rosenblum, Scott Devine, Ellen Wang Rosenblum, and Edward Wang. It pioneered x86 virtualization technology, enabling multiple operating systems to run on a single physical server -- a capability that transformed enterprise data centre operations. VMware was publicly traded from 2007 until its 2023 acquisition.
Broadcom Corporation was founded in 1991 by Henry Samueli and Henry Nicholas. In 2016, Avago Technologies acquired Broadcom Corporation and adopted the Broadcom name.
