About Elastic
Elastic was built on the foundation of Elasticsearch, an incredibly popular open-source search engine created by Shay Banon. Initially built to help his wife search a recipe app, the technology proved capable of searching through massive amounts of unstructured data in milliseconds.
Today, the Elastic Stack (formerly ELK stack: Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) is used by thousands of organizations globally. The company has evolved its core search capabilities into three primary enterprise solutions: Enterprise Search, Observability (logging, metrics, APM), and Security (SIEM and endpoint protection).
What Elastic Does
Enterprise Search
Powerful search capabilities embedded into apps, websites, and internal corporate environments.
Observability
Unified logs, metrics, and traces allowing teams to monitor their entire ecosystem in real-time.
Elastic Security
Combining SIEM and endpoint security to detect, investigate, and respond to threats at scale.
Elastic Cloud
The fully managed service of the Elastic Stack available across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
