About Freshworks

Freshworks was founded as Freshdesk in 2010 in Chennai, India, by Girish Mathrubootham and Shan Krishnasamy, former Zoho employees. They aimed to build a customer support software that was easy to use, quick to deploy, and affordable, directly challenging legacy giants like Zendesk.

The company rebranded to Freshworks in 2017 as its product suite expanded into IT service management (Freshservice), CRM (Freshsales), and HR (Freshcaller). In September 2021, Freshworks listed on the NASDAQ, becoming one of the first major Indian-founded SaaS companies to go public in the US.
