About Hexaware

Hexaware Technologies was founded in 1990 in Mumbai by Atul Nishar (who also founded Aptech). It established a strong early niche in ERP implementation (specifically PeopleSoft) and HR IT solutions. In 2013, Baring Private Equity Asia acquired a majority stake, and the company eventually delisted from the stock exchanges to operate privately.

In 2021, the company was acquired by the Carlyle Group for roughly $3 billion. Today, Hexaware pitches itself as an automation-first IT firm, focusing aggressively on moving enterprise workloads to the cloud and replacing manual IT support with bots and AI.
