About KPIT Technologies
KPIT Technologies was founded in Pune in 1990. Initially starting as an IT consulting and audit firm, the company gradually shifted its focus entirely to engineering and R&D services for the automotive industry. It played a significant role in helping automakers transition from mechanical engineering to software-centric designs.
In 2019, KPIT underwent a complex corporate restructuring. It merged its traditional IT services business with Birlasoft and spun off its pure-play automotive engineering division into a new, publicly listed entity (also retaining the name KPIT Technologies). Today, it is a global leader in software-defined vehicles.
