About Tech Mahindra
Tech Mahindra was incorporated in 1986 as a joint venture between the Mahindra Group and British Telecom (BT). For its first two decades, it was heavily reliant on BT and the broader telecommunications sector, specializing in telecom billing, OSS/BSS, and network services.
A major turning point occurred in 2009 when Tech Mahindra successfully acquired Satyam Computer Services (which was embroiled in India's biggest corporate fraud scandal). The acquisition of Satyam—later rebranded as Mahindra Satyam and fully merged in 2013—diversified Tech Mahindra's portfolio into enterprise solutions, manufacturing, and banking, making it a tier-1 Indian IT firm.
