About Unilever

Unilever was formed in 1929 through the merger of a Dutch margarine company (Margarine Unie) and a British soapmaker (Lever Brothers). Today, it is one of the largest consumer goods companies in the world, with its products used by over 3 billion people every day.

In India, its subsidiary Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) is an absolute powerhouse. HUL is often considered the 'CEO factory' of corporate India and boasts an unmatched rural distribution network (Project Shakti). Its brands like Surf Excel, Lifebuoy, Lakmé, and Brooke Bond are deeply embedded in Indian culture.
