About Robinhood
Robinhood was founded in 2013 by two Stanford roommates who realized that big Wall Street firms paid effectively nothing to trade stocks, while retail investors were charged high commission fees for every trade. They launched Robinhood to bridge this gap.
By introducing zero-commission trading and an incredibly intuitive mobile app, Robinhood sparked a massive transformation in the brokerage industry, forcing legacy competitors to eliminate their own trading fees. The company has since expanded into cryptocurrency trading, retirement accounts, and cash management.
